FTTx

The professional access network services set to provide cost-effective, high efficiency, and forward-facing FTTx networks for operators; while professional services leverage existing investments, lower migration risks, improve efficiency, and ensure high-quality deliveries.

Challenges

FTTx networks will be used extensively for broadband access in the future. Legacy networks will inevitably migrate to solutions that use more IP-based carrier access network devices and adapt fiber-in and cooper-out evolutions. In FTTx network construction and restructuring, operators face the following challenges:

  • First, the network plan should accommodate long-term evolution. Network expansion and upgrades for the next several years should be taken into consideration when constructing FTTx networks. At present, many networks are not efficiently planned and there is a lot of non-conformity between designs.
  • Second, network deployment is difficult. Integrating FTTx products is a complex task and FTTx network management is complicated because they involve many engineering scenarios, complex environments, and various engineering teams. As a result, it is hard to efficiently deploy an FTTx network in a timely manner.
  • Third, network restructuring must be smooth and stable. Operators require network restructuring to have minimum impacts on the live network. Minimal durations in service interruptions, ensuring service data security, and leveraging existing investments are three of the main requirements.
